I thought I'd pass this nice little link along to ya...these are the kind of headaches I've been diagnosed with---they are manageable to a degree, but some can get really vicious.  Prior to this I had been diagnosed with migraines; working on finding out whether or not you can be diagnosed with one and it turns into the other---maybe some connection...probably hormonal...I think the article that mentioned your band said something about a hormonal connection...hmmmmm. I took imitrex via self-injector since I would wake up with a true migraine already full-blown, and no way to take anything to make it stop because I'd throw it back up.  Some were so severe that I had to lay perfectly still in a cool dark room with no noise. If I so much as moved my pinky finger, I'd throw up.  The shots helped for about 5 times before I developed "mixed headaches".  Migraine drugs will not work on anything but true migraine headaches.  I took Esgic for a few months which worked well, as long as I didn't wake up with a "bad one".  I've learned how to manage them better and what to watch for so I can tell when and how bad a particular headache might be.  The headache relief band and massaging the neck work great and I can manage most headaches before they get out of control.
